About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Architect to lead the design, modernization, and implementation of enterprise-scale IT systems.
This role requires deep expertise in cloud computing, AI/ML technologies, and full software development life cycle (SDLC).
The ideal candidate will drive large-scale legacy system transformation, architect cloud-native solutions, and provide technical leadership across complex government or enterprise programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and modernization of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-based platforms
Design and implement AI/ML solutions, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and data-driven decision systems
Architect and deploy applications on AWS using services such as EC2, S3, and data platforms like Databricks and MongoDB
Guide full lifecycle software development, from requirements and prototyping to testing and production deployment
Lead reverse engineering and code modernization efforts (e.g., mainframe assembly to Java/Spark)
Develop and review enterprise architecture artifacts, including solution architecture documents and system designs
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams
Conduct system performance analysis, optimization, and scalability planning
Collaborate with stakeholders, executives, and program leadership to align IT strategy with business goals
Participate in independent technical assessments, reviews, and advisory panels
Required Qualifications
Master’s /Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (strong mathematical background preferred)
15+ years of experience in IT architecture and enterprise system development
Proven expertise in cloud platforms, especially AWS
Strong experience in Java, Spark (Java/SQL), and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies and data processing pipelines
Extensive experience in legacy system modernization and re-engineering
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and SOA
Experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, MongoDB, and MPP systems
Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Experience working on large-scale government or regulated industry programs
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with tools and platforms such as Databricks, SAS, FICO Blaze, Informatica, and WebSphere

Experience with mainframe systems, assembly language, and reverse engineering tools

Experience with business rules engines and workflow systems

Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in government environments

Prior role as Chief Architect, Solution Architect, or Technical Lead on large programs
