Role Overview: As a Director of Cybersecurity at MX, you will be responsible for maturing operational security capabilities, evolving threat detection and response programs, and driving strategic improvements. Your role will involve leading day-to-day operations, shaping the organization's strategic direction, and providing tactical operational support to the team. You must be a passionate, data-driven, team-oriented, servant leader who can operate in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and refine the vision and strategy for the Security Engineering and Operations program, aligning it with business objectives and industry best practices. - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of cybersecurity engineers, focusing on Service Ownership concepts. - Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and system/control performance, identifying areas for automation and optimization. - Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of services that protect customer data and preserve platform integrity. - Evaluate, select, and implement technology solutions for security control capabilities with a focus on AWS cloud environments. - Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track security technology performance and effectiveness. - Partner with the GRC team to ensure compliance with security regulations and standards. - Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, collaborate with other security teams, and drive cross-functional security initiatives. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields - 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing security operations or engineering teams - 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, especially in AWS or GCP environments - 3+ years of experience securing Generative AI (GenAI) systems, including LLM security, prompt injection mitigation, and data pipeline protection - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Masters or relevant certifications preferred) Additional Company Details: MX values collaboration and face-to-face interactions among team members for fostering a dynamic and productive work environment.
