Role Overview: At NPCI, you will be part of a team that has already tackled massive scale challenges in the world of payments, particularly with the UPI system. You will work with predictive models that operate in milliseconds to drive decision-making processes. As a Principal AI Architect with over 13 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in shaping the AI strategy for the nation's financial backbone. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Leadership: - Define the technical roadmap for integrating GenAI into core payment flows while maintaining the reliability of UPI. - Make critical decisions on building proprietary foundation models or fine-tuning open-source models for data sovereignty. - Mentor and lead a team of Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers to promote a culture of research and production excellence. - Predictive AI & Scale: - Architect the next generation Fraud Risk Management system to move towards real-time graph learning and streaming inference. - Oversee the design of a unified Feature Store for transactional features and vector embeddings. - Drive optimizations at the kernel level to maximize throughput from GPU clusters. - Generative & Agentic AI: - Lead the development of Level 4 AI Agents capable of real-time banking interactions. - Direct the strategy for fine-tuning SLMs on financial data for edge deployment. - Design AI guardrails to prevent critical financial advice hallucinations. Qualification Required: - Proven experience in both Classic ML and Modern GenAI systems at scale. - Background in handling high transaction volumes and distributed computing. - Deep understanding and practical experience in Deep Learning concepts and custom model training. - Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers.
