Safety Engineer

Job Title: Safety Engineer Job Location: Thane, Maharashtra Experience: 2 to 6 Years Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with ADIS/PDIS from a State Board Recognized Institute Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and safety-conscious Safety Engineer to join our project team in Thane, Maharashtra . The ideal candidate should have 2 to 6 years of experience in infrastructure projects, preferably in Roads, Bridges, Expressways, NHAI, or Metro Projects . The candidate will be responsible for implementing Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project. Key Responsibilities Implement and monitor project-specific Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) plans. Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company HSE policies. Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Carry out safety induction programs for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Organize regular toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns. Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, permits, and incident documentation. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all site personnel. Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, electrical work, lifting operations, excavation, confined space entry, and hot work. Coordinate with project teams to ensure safety compliance during all construction activities. Conduct periodic emergency drills and ensure emergency preparedness at the project site. Liaise with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities on HSE-related matters. Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and other occupational health and safety standards, where applicable. Required Skills Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and statutory regulations. Experience in HSE management for infrastructure projects. Good understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and permit-to-work systems. Knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis. Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills. Proficiency in MS Office for preparing reports and documentation. Ability to conduct safety training, audits, and inspections effectively. Preferred Project Experience Roads Bridges Expressways NHAI Projects Metro Projects Desired Candidate Profile B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. ADIS/PDIS certification from a State Board Recognized Institute. 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in infrastructure construction projects. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment. Willingness to work at the project site in Thane, Maharashtra.
