Job Description – L2 Network Engineer (Data Center Operations) Position: L2 Network Engineer Experience: 3–6 Years Location: [Location] Shift: 24x7 Rotational (if applicable) Employment Type: Full-Time About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven L2 Network Engineer to support enterprise Data Center and campus network environments. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in VXLAN, Cisco ACI, network monitoring tools, and ITSM processes. The role requires operational excellence, proactive monitoring, and adherence to SLA-driven support models. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2 operational support for Enterprise LAN/WAN/Data Center networks. Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of VXLAN-based environments. Support and manage Cisco ACI fabric, including policies, tenants, EPGs, contracts, and fabric troubleshooting. Monitor network health and performance using SolarWinds and other monitoring tools. Handle incidents, service requests, changes, and problem tickets via ServiceNow in alignment with ITIL framework. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain accurate network inventory, asset records, and documentation. Ensure proper data management and configuration backups. Coordinate with L3 teams, OEM vendors, and cross-functional teams for issue resolution. Participate in change implementation and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with SLA/KPI targets and security standards. Required Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with VXLAN (configuration & troubleshooting). Working knowledge of Cisco ACI architecture and operations. Solid understanding of Routing & Switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, HSRP, etc.). Experience in Data Center Networking concepts. Practical exposure to SolarWinds monitoring tool. Experience working on ServiceNow ITSM platform. Knowledge of network inventory management and asset lifecycle management. Good understanding of network documentation and data handling practices. Preferred Qualifications Certification such as CCNA / CCNP / ACI Certification preferred. ITIL Foundation certification is a plus. Exposure to Firewalls / Load Balancers will be an advantage. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, SLA-driven enterprise environment.
