Job Title: Optical Network Terminal (ONT) Software Development Engineer Location: Chennai Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview We are seeking an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) Software Development Engineer with strong expertise in switch SDKs (Broadcom or equivalent) and embedded software development. The role involves designing, developing, and integrating ONT software with hardware platforms to deliver high-performance telecom solutions. Key Responsibilities Software Development: Design and develop ONT software modules for telecom applications. SDK Integration: Work with switch SDKs (Broadcom or other) to implement and optimize features. Hardware Integration: Integrate embedded software with hardware systems, ensuring seamless performance. Collaboration: Partner with hardware and system engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions. Testing & Optimization: Conduct debugging, performance tuning, and validation of ONT software. Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and test plans. Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and security requirements. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field. Core Skills: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and embedded systems development. SDK Experience: Hands-on experience with switch SDKs (Broadcom or equivalent). Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of networking protocols (Ethernet, GPON, XGS-PON, etc.). Integration: Experience in hardware-software integration and low-level driver development. OS/Kernel: Familiarity with Linux kernel, device drivers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). Preferred Skills Experience with telecom systems, ONT/OLT platforms, or similar networking equipment. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in embedded systems. Exposure to Agile development methodologies. Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
