Role Overview: As the Director of AI/ML & Data Science at Gracenote India, you will play a central role in ensuring the success of data science teams across different locations. Your primary responsibility will be to establish the technical rigor, culture, and operational practices within the organization to achieve business objectives for Gracenote. You will collaborate with local and global stakeholders to drive key outcomes and deliverables, focusing on initiatives in AI, core data science, NLP, computer vision, and MLOps. Key Responsibilities: - Manage multiple teams of data science and analytics engineers, providing both direct and indirect managerial guidance. - Work closely with local and global management to ensure the productivity and success of the assigned teams. - Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning based on Nielsen values. - Establish an operating rhythm and communication cadence to create a positive environment for associates. - Track KPIs related to productivity and employee retention. - Develop and maintain a talent pipeline, including university connections and internship programs. - Implement automation processes for recurring analyses and simulations to enhance efficiency. - Oversee the deployment and maintenance of machine learning models, AI solutions, and data pipelines in production. - Maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy of audience measurement data. - Drive research initiatives to enhance statistical sampling methodologies and incorporate predictive analytics into operational processes. - Stay updated on emerging trends in data science, market research, and media analytics to contribute to industry forums. - Lead projects in core data science, NLP, and computer vision, utilizing tools like GenAI for workflow creation and deployment. Qualifications: - Bachelors/Masters degree or PhD (preferred) in a quantitative research field. - 13+ years of experience in Data Science, AI, deep learning, and statistics. - Strong team-building skills with a proven track record. - Proficiency in statistical coding languages such as Python, Spark, SAS, R, Scala, and SQL. - Experience in cloud-based environments, preferably AWS. - Familiarity with business tools like JIRA, Airflow, Confluence, Smartsheets, and Google Workspace suite. - Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Knowledge of market research methodologies and media industry regulations is a plus. - Hands-on experience with NLP and computer vision libraries and frameworks. - Ability to deploy and manage machine learning models in production environments.
