About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer at Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore, you will play a crucial role in designing and operating the data platform that drives finance decisions across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to build cloud-based data pipelines on Databricks, collaborating closely with colleagues in Denmark to transform raw finance data into actionable insights that propel Novo Nordisk forward. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and operate scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes on Databricks - Work with raw source systems, data modeling, transformation logic, and orchestration to ensure timely and accurate delivery of finance data - Implement best practices for data quality, observability, performance, and cost optimization in a cloud environment - Support deployment, CI/CD, and resolution of production incidents - Lead and define the end-to-end architecture of data pipeline solutions in collaboration with colleagues - Act as a developer, tester, integration, and deployment specialist on data pipelines - Drive continuous improvement using behavior-driven design principles, DevOps practices, and compliance awareness - Establish a data & analytics team in GBS, serving as a functional lead and partner to the HQ team in Denmark - Coach and share knowledge with colleagues, fostering collaborative ways of working and spreading expertise across the team - Become a trusted partner for the line of business, understanding their processes and challenges to design and implement valuable data solutions Qualifications: - Masters degree in computer science, engineering, software development, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years experience - Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, jobs) - Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with Data Engineering frameworks - Experience with data modeling, ingestion patterns, and orchestration tools - Knowledge of cloud platform services (Azure/AWS/GCP) relevant to Databricks - Experience with data observability tools, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices - Experience with SAP ecosystem, e.g., S4 and BDC (or SAP BW/BW4 HANA) - Ability to understand complex technical matters, form educated opinions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying technical expertise - Experience in a regulated industry would be advantageous (Note: The additional details about the company were not included in the Job Description provided.)
