As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for providing ongoing support for hardware and software systems, ensuring their installation, customization, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will offer technical support and guidance on programming tools, database systems, and networks, addressing availability and reliability issues across multiple locations. Your operational duties will include handling incident tickets, ensuring system compliance, testing and staging system enhancements, enhancing policies and procedures, coordinating with clients, and providing operational recommendations. Additionally, you will monitor and optimize system performance, implement system security measures, and oversee system backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous support 24x7. Your key responsibilities will include: - Researching, evaluating, and recommending software packages to meet system architecture requirements - Defining specifications and requirements for software package modifications and customizations - Planning, coordinating, and managing the installation, maintenance, and modification of software packages - Participating in software package performance evaluation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution - Collaborating with software vendors and providing guidance to end users, administrators, and technical support personnel on hardware and network design, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical training - Assisting in establishing departmental policies related to data management, database design, implementation, security, and accessibility - Conducting database planning, administration, data standards implementation, security measures, and documentation for software packages - Installing and customizing software and hardware to support enterprise systems effectively - Monitoring network, hardware, and storage capacity through inventory management system implementation - Designing and implementing software package integrations - Consulting with software vendors to evaluate software and hardware for enterprise network management - Defining and managing network software and hardware component configurations - Monitoring devices in a complex LAN environment and analyzing performance for load balancing Regarding the qualifications, you should possess: - At least 6 years of experience in designing application architectures for state and/or federal agencies - Proficiency in incorporating industry standards such as MITA 3.5, HIPAA, NIST, and other applicable standards - Excellent knowledge of systems software, hardware, networks, and operating systems - Exceptional understanding of system management processes, problem reporting, change management, and support tools - Familiarity with products like IBM Decision Center, IBM Decision Server, Software AG webMethods, Broadcom/Software AG API Gateway Preferred skills for this role include: - Undergraduate degree - Experience in supporting on-prem data center and cloud environments for State and/or Federal agencies - Knowledge of products like Dell Nutanix, Dell VxRail, VMware ESXi/vCenter/NSX/SRM, Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, MS SQL Server, Nagios, NewRelic APM/Infrastructure/Browser, Octopus Deploy, Puppet, Splunk, Veracode In summary, as a Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and security of hardware and software systems, ensuring seamless operations across multiple locations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of system performance and reliability.
