Job Title: Senior Cloud Data Architect (GCP AlloyDB Expert) Role Summary We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Senior Cloud Data Architect with 16 to 25 years of experience to design, govern, and scale our next-generation enterprise data platform on GCP. In this strategic role, you will define the overarching data architecture blueprint, spearhead complex database migrations, and lead a high-performing data engineering organization. You will bridge the gap between complex infrastructure, enterprise governance, and business-critical analytics, ensuring our BigQuery and AlloyDB ecosystems are performant, secure, and cost-efficient. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture: Design resilient, scalable, and secure end-to-end data architectures (ETL/ELT/Streaming) utilizing Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and AlloyDB). Strategic Leadership: Provide technical governance and mentorship to data leads and engineers, enforce rigorous Python/SQL code standards, and align data strategy with business goals. Cost Performance Optimization: Establish frameworks for enterprise-wide BigQuery slot management, compute allocation, and advanced query optimization to drive cost efficiency. Modern Database Migration: Blueprint and execute zero-downtime migration strategies from legacy relational engines to AlloyDB, ensuring operational continuity. Data DevOps Automation: Define the CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards for global data pipelines using Terraform and enterprise automation tools. Data Governance Security: Architect robust corporate data governance, fine-grained access control, PII masking, and data lineage compliance across all analytical environments. Must-Have Skills Qualifications Experience: 16 to 25 years of progressive experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Engineering, and Cloud Transformations. GCP Expertise: Expert-level mastery of BigQuery architecture, including physical storage design, dynamic slots tuning, partitioning, and clustering. Advanced AlloyDB Mastery: Proven experience migrating legacy databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or Cloud SQL) to AlloyDB using Database Migration Service (DMS) with near-zero downtime. Deep expertise in optimizing AlloyDB Read Pools for high-concurrency, read-heavy enterprise workloads. Advanced knowledge of auto-vacuum tuning, query planning, and transactional optimization in high-throughput environments. Clear structural understanding of AlloyDB?s disaggregated storage engine to leverage instant vertical/horizontal scaling. Data Concepts: Mastery in defining enterprise Data Lakes vs. Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, and Data Mesh patterns. Orchestration Code: Deep experience with Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) and enterprise-grade Python and SQL development. Infrastructure as Code: Advanced capabilities in writing modular, secure Terraform configurations for complex multi-region data environments.
