Data Science Manager

As a senior AI/data scientist at Opella, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions that directly impact the self-care industry. Here's a breakdown of what will be expected from you: Role Overview: You will be responsible for owning complex problems end-to-end, from framing the business question to deploying robust AI systems that drive real value for stakeholders at Opella. Challenging the status quo, you will ensure that the AI solutions are scientifically sound, operationally reliable, and impactful for the future patients and consumers. Key Responsibilities: - Own problems end-to-end, including framing, modeling, experimentation, productionization, monitoring, and adoption. - Apply expertise in machine learning, statistics, NLP/text-mining, forecasting, optimization, and Generative AI in various analytics projects. - Lead the full end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from POC to MLOps deployment. - Utilize data visualization, storytelling, and analytical frameworks to scope, define, and deliver AI-based data products. - Develop models, algorithms, simulations, and experiments with high-quality, optimized code. - Execute a wide range of ML activities, from experimentation to productionization and maintenance. Qualifications Required: - Degree, Master and/or PhD in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, or related quantitative discipline with strong coding skills. Alternatively, a Masters Degree in a relevant domain with 6+ years of analytical experience. - Strong project management skills focused on data science and ML operations. - Experience in developing deployable code and deploying models in product-focused development within an agile environment. - Proficiency in cloud and high-performance computing environments like AWS, GCP, Databricks, and Azure. - Previous experience in production-ready software development. - Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, data visualization, and data storytelling skills. - Experience in life sciences, healthcare, and working in complex global organizations. - Hands-on experience in AI/ML modeling of complex datasets with a solid understanding of the theoretical foundations. - Establish and drive data hygiene best practices to maintain data coherence and integrity for production ML/AI solutions. - Previous experience in developing data science projects for various business areas such as Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply, Finance.
