About the role
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SCOPE: Contributes to project identification and definition. Normally works under the guidance of a supervisor. Develops, implements and/or supports assigned technologies, products, and processes. Responsible for other projects as assigned by supervisor. APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE: Proven experience beyond education to support and deliver high quality products and processes through the application of engineering principles. Exhibits competency and begins to develop expertise in multiple engineering technologies. Performs work which involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, incomplete market requirements, unsuitability of standard materials and multiple project coordination. JUDGMENT: Independently evaluates, selects and applies engineering principles to product and process modifications. Exercises independent judgment to define project objectives and engineering / scientific approach. Assignments may require development of unclear objectives and require investigation of multiple variables.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – PRODUCT Engineer III (Corp. or Divisional Team): Job Code #05045 Responsibilities: Develop and implement design changes for productivity, customer service, new product development, and quality improvements. Manage projects of varying levels in parallel. Implements product designs within the schedule and budget parameters. Identifies and communicates implementation problems or resource issues that may affect the schedule or budget. Analyzes the risks of new designs or processes and communicates results to Project / Sr. engineer. Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design. Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions. Supervisory responsibilities: Supervision of hourly employees may be expected. Work hours: Normal + irregular hours/shifts required Travel expectations: Low to high dependent upon role & project assignments
