Data Center Network engineer

Job Description:

In this role, you will

• Review architectural requirements and provide analysis for network and services specifications, network design, network partitioning, and network architecture definition

• Engineer, plan, and implement complex network configurations for regional and national data centers supporting a service provider network

• Effectively communicate engineering solutions through detailed high- and low-level diagrams and Engineering Design Packages

• Provide advanced expertise in the development of network test, validation, and integration plans on projects and assurance of network integrity

• Work independently with vendors to understand, test, and drive new innovative features

Skills, Experience and Requirements

• Ideal Senior Network Engineer candidates have:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer Engineering preferred

• Must have picture in resume.

• 5 or more years of professional experience in large enterprise or carrier space

• 3 or more years of experience with data center networking

• Professional networking certifications a plus – CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent

• Public cloud certifications a plus – advanced networking, cloud network engineer, or equivalent

• Successful Senior Network Engineer candidates have extensive knowledge in:

• Data center networking

• BGP, IS-IS, VRFs and QoS

• MPLS and/or segment routing (SR-MPLS, SRv6)

• Connectivity to high-speed public Internet facilities

• Highly available network architectures, failover, and redundant configurations

• Software-defined networking (design and traffic engineering)

• Network configuration automation (scripting with Perl, Python, Bash)
