Design Engineer – Instrument Panel / Trim

Job Description:

Working on design projects.

Estimation of work package.

Ensuring Quality and on time delivery.

Provide metrics to management regarding project health, costs, efforts, defects.

Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points and share with related groups.

Review costs to ensure it meets the design intentions and provide solutions if it does not.

Model parts and systems in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS office.

Plan & coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing and suppliers.

Should coordinate with engineers located at different global technical centers.

Requirements

• BE or BTech / M.Sc/ M.E in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Working experience with Honda ADC and Honda process knowledge is must

• 5 years minimum experience in interior plastic (Instrument panel / Trim) design using Catia V5

• Exposure to Catia V6 is preferred.

• Concept developments, Analytical calculations on design requirements

• Experience in design and development of Front and rear bumper cover and assembly.

• Hands on experience in DFA, DFM evaluations for sheet metal, Plastic parts, Gap and Flush, Tolerance calculation

• Knowledge on structural simulations requirements

• 2D drawings creation for mechanical parts with suitable tolerance scheme.

• Experience in release of 3D and 2D in PLM system

• Working with Tier-1/OEM team for acceptance, release & improvements

• Other Requirements:

• English is a must.

• Knowledge of other languages (Japanese) is added advantage.
