Tooling Design Engineer

Job Description:

Design and Development:

• Design fixtures, gages, and tooling to support the manufacturing process for aerospace hardware.

• Utilize Siemens NX to create tooling designs and blueprints.

• Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team on project development and investigations related to tooling.

• Assess tooling builds for internal production or outsourcing to tooling vendors; interact with tooling vendors as needed.

• Work closely with the manufacturing engineering team to incorporate design changes or specifications.

Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, adhering to safe work practices.

• Implement measures to reduce costs, enhance quality, and increase throughput for both new and existing processes.

• Maintain tooling blueprint storage location in compliance with customer policies and procedures.

Support and Collaboration:

• Provide support on the shop floor.

• Assist in the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or quality environment; or an Associate's degree and

4 or more years of experience in such fields; or in lieu of a degree, 6 or more years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in cross-functional project work.

• Proficiency in 3D modeling/drafting software, with preference given to

experience with Siemens NX.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• U.S. citizenship is required, as access to information under this program/contract is restricted to U.S. citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

• • 2 or more years of experience as a tool designer.

• • Ability to apply and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• • Green Belt Certified.
