About the role
Role Overview: Our client, a trusted global innovator of IT and business services, is seeking a Sr. Cloud Tester for a DB2 to GCP AlloyDB migration project. As part of this project, you will be responsible for ensuring a successful migration effort by utilizing specific tools and technical skills. Your role will involve working with IBM DB2, GCP AlloyDB, CloudSpanner, CloudSQL, and other Google Cloud Platform tools to migrate data effectively. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of DB2, proficiency in PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, CloudSQL, and CloudSpanner, as well as experience in schema conversion, data type mapping, dataset movement, performance tuning, and legacy feature handling. Additionally, you will be involved in ETL testing to validate the migration process. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize tools such as IBM DB2, GCP AlloyDB, CloudSpanner, CloudSQL, and other Google Cloud Platform services for the successful migration of data - Demonstrate a strong understanding of DB2 including schemas, stored procedures, and triggers - Proficiency in PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, CloudSQL, and CloudSpanner to ensure smooth data migration - Perform schema conversion and data type mapping from DB2 to PostgreSQL - Experience in handling large-scale dataset movement in batch and real-time scenarios - Conduct performance tuning and manage legacy features such as DB2 sequences and triggers - Participate in ETL testing to validate the effectiveness of the migration process Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of experience in IT, with a focus on database migration projects - Proficiency in IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, CloudSQL, and CloudSpanner - Strong technical skills in schema conversion, data type mapping, and dataset movement - Experience in performance tuning and handling legacy features in database systems - Prior experience in ETL testing is preferred (Note: Any additional details of the company were not provided in the job description.)
