Job Description — Manager, LPS Design & Consultant Engineering

Middle Management Role | Lightning Protection Solutions Vertical | Internal Technical / Back-Office Role

Role Purpose: To act as Indelec India’s internal LPS / CAD consulting expert by preparing lightning protection

drawings, lightning-risk inputs, BOQs, technical documents and standard libraries for project, consultant and sales

support, with guidance from the Technical Director and Indelec France HQ wherever required.

Key Internal Interfaces Application Managers, Sales Managers, Product Manager, Technical Director,

France HQ technical departments, Service / Operations

External Interface Limited; primarily back-office technical support through Sales / Applications teams

Travel Requirement Occasional travel for site-survey support, installation clarifications and technical

validation, as required

1. Position Overview

Indelec India is strengthening its internal technical capability for LPS design, CAD drawing support, BOQ generation,

technical documentation and standards-based project support. The role is designed as a back-office technical expert

function — not a front-line consultant sales role — supporting Application Managers, Sales Managers and the Product

Manager with accurate design outputs and technical files required for project conversion and execution.

• Use dedicated professional software to assess lightning risk for projects.

• Prepare LPS layouts covering air termination, down-conductors, earthing, bonding and SPD interfaces.

• Edit and standardize CAD drawings received from project / consultant teams.

B. BOQ, Technical Documentation & Specification Support

• Prepare BOQs, design calculations, technical schedules, product selection notes, compliance statements, method

statements, design basis notes and technical submittals.

• Generate structured technical reports for project review, design sign-off, data validation and internal tracking.

• Maintain a technical library of drawings, BOQ templates, specifications, technical presentations, datasheets,

certifications, approval notes and query responses.

C. Consultant / Client Support Through Internal Teams

• Support Field Sales, Application Managers and Product Manager with technically sound, compliance-led and

application-specific design responses.

• Provide inputs for consultant approvals without replacing the external-facing responsibility of Sales /

Applications teams.

D. Earthing, Bonding, SPD & System Integration

• Coordinate earthing requirements and align external LPS, equipotential bonding, earth termination, SPD strategy

and electrical safety expectations.

• Support installation detailing and interface resolution with contractors for practical site execution.

E. Site Survey, Installation Guidance & Commissioning Support

• Guide Application Managers / Sales Managers on documents and site information required to conduct LPS

surveys.

• Provide technical support from product selection to installation guidance and commissioning documentation.

F. Product & Standards Support

• Support development of solution details, mounting arrangements, design templates and application notes based

on Indian and international standards.

• Work with the Technical Director and France HQ teams for technical datasheets, certifications, product

documentation and standard references.

G. Team Coordination & Reporting Discipline

• Work closely with regional sales, application engineers and technical teams to prioritize active design requests,

approvals and project conversion support.

• Track design requests, drawing revisions, BOQs issued, open clarifications and technical library updates.

1. Required Profile

Core Background LPS / earthing / electrical design / CAD drafting experience in building, industrial,

infrastructure or electrical product environments.

Design & Software Skills

AutoCAD mandatory; dedicated lightning risk-assessment software

required/preferred; ETAP Earth Grid, Excel, 2D/3D tools and document-control

exposure advantageous.

Technical Ability Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical and MEP drawings and convert

them into practical LPS layouts, BOQs and technical submissions.

Working Style Accurate, disciplined, documentation-oriented, collaborative and able to support

multiple regional teams as an internal technical resource.

• Accurate LPS drawings, lightning-risk inputs, BOQs

and technical submittals delivered within agreed

turnaround time.

• Updated technical library covering standard

drawings, specifications, datasheets, certifications,

templates and project responses.

• Clear support to Sales / Applications teams for

consultant approvals, contractor clarifications and

commissioning documentation.

• Reliable version control, documentation discipline

and weekly reporting of active design requests and

technical closures.

1. Role Boundary / Clarification

This position is a focused internal CAD / LPS design expert role. External consultant relationship ownership remains

with Application Managers, Sales Managers and the Product Manager. The role strengthens the accuracy, speed,

standardization and quality of Indelec India’s technical back office.
