Job Description – Senior Engineer – Production
Position: Senior Engineer – Production
Manufacturing Location: Hosur
Reporting To: Production Manager / Unit Head
Category: Furniture Manufacturing (Sofa & Metal Fabrication )
Production & Productivity
Execute daily production plans and achieve shift-wise production targets.
Monitor manpower, machine utilization, line balancing and improve OEE.
Minimize downtime by coordinating with Maintenance, Quality and Process Engineering.
Quality
Ensure products meet approved quality standards.
Reduce defects and rework through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement using quality and customer feedback.
Cost Optimization
Drive waste elimination and material optimization.
Support cost reduction projects aligned with AOP targets.
Delivery
Execute production schedules to achieve OTIF targets.
Coordinate with Planning, Stores and Dispatch for smooth production flow.
Safety
Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
People Management
Lead operators, technicians and contract workforce.
Train teams on SOPs, TPM, quality and safety practices.
Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean, TPM, Kaizen and 5S initiatives.
Track KPIs and support automation and process improvement projects.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing or related Engineering.
5 to 8 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience handling production lines and shop floor manpower.
Preferred Qualifications

Lean Manufacturing, TPM or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Experience in Furniture, Consumer Durables, Automotive or FMCG manufacturing.

Knowledge of OEE, RCA, CAPA, 5S and Kaizen.
