About the role
About the Role Assistant Manager - Finance Automation & Analytics - We are looking for a hands-on individual contributor who will be embedded in the Finance team. The role involves understanding finance workflows end-to-end, identifying opportunities to automate operational and reporting tasks, building internal tools, and owning the data and dashboarding requirements for the team. The person will also work with and guide interns and junior team members to execute on projects. Responsibilities: Write, own, and ship scripts and tools independently as an individual contributor getting things done hands-on, not just directing others. Own the Finance team's automation roadmap: identify manual/repetitive processes and systematically eliminate them. Build and maintain dashboards for financial KPIs, MIS, and reporting. Develop lightweight internal tools to address data and workflow requirements of the Finance team. Write and maintain automation scripts for operational and accounting tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Tech, Ops) to ship integrated solutions. Guide and manage interns and junior members on assigned projects. Key Requirements: 34 years of experience in Finance operations, FP&A, or finance analytics. Strong domain knowledge of finance processes (accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, MIS, reporting) Python (must-have) automation scripts, data processing. Power BI (must-have) building and publishing financial dashboards. SQL (must-have) querying structured data sources. Excel advanced usage including financial modelling and reporting Ability to independently write and ship working code. Good to Have: Familiarity with BigQuery or any cloud data warehouse. Exposure to tools like Selenium, Playwright, or n8n for workflow automation Experience with accounting/ERP platforms (Zoho Books, Tally, SAP, etc.) Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
