About the role
As a Press Production Engineer at our Chennai manufacturing facility, your primary task will be to supervise, streamline, and continually enhance every facet of the production processes for metal stamping and pressing. Your role will involve ensuring extreme productivity, excellent product quality, economical viability, and rigorous adherence to safety regulations. You will also be responsible for process development, troubleshooting, and providing engineering assistance. Your key responsibilities will include: - Creating and implementing new or modified manufacturing procedures, jigs, fixtures, and equipment for deep draw, bending, punching, blanking, stamping, and punching. - Monitoring die setups and changes on presses to ensure correct alignment, efficiency, and safety. - Ensuring production schedules are followed and reporting any discrepancies to the production manager. - Assisting with PPAP submissions for new or changed parts. - Assessing risks associated with press operations and implementing safety precautions. - Generating reports on quality performance, downtime analysis, production efficiency, scrap rates, and improvement projects. The abilities required for this role include: - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Strong English communication abilities, both written and verbal. - Solid dedication to quality and safety.
