As a Senior Software Engineer - Java at a creative technology company focused on building scalable, cloud-based software solutions, your role will involve: - Leading the design, development, and optimization of Java applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and security. - Architecting and integrating middleware solutions (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ) to ensure seamless communication between components and systems. - Designing and implementing cloud-based architectures on Google Cloud Platform, managing services for optimal performance and cost-efficiency. - Providing technical mentorship to junior engineers and sharing best practices for coding standards, design principles, and problem-solving approaches. - Contributing to the overall system architecture, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. - Identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve system efficiency. - Conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code. - Collaborating with product managers, system architects, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into innovative technical solutions. - Staying current with emerging technologies and recommending tools, frameworks, or processes to enhance development practices. Qualifications Required: - 68 years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java. - Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate. - Extensive experience with middleware technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ). - Deep understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges. - Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers. - Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
