About the role
As a junior database administrator (DBA) in our IT team, your role will involve managing and maintaining databases to ensure the security, availability, performance, and integrity of our data. You will contribute to database design, development, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting tasks. Working as an outsourced employee from an offshore location, you will report to the senior DBA. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and update database software and tools - Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity - Perform backup and recovery operations - Ensure database security and compliance with policies and standards - Diagnose and resolve database issues and errors - Support database development and testing activities - Document and maintain database procedures and specifications - Collaborate with other IT staff and stakeholders Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or related field - Minimum 4 years of experience as a database administrator or a similar role - Proficient in SQL and database management systems (DBMS) Oracle, and SQL Server - Familiar with database design, development, and administration tools and techniques - Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery best practices - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Good communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work independently and remotely - Flexibility to work in different time zones and schedules As a junior database administrator (DBA) in our IT team, your role will involve managing and maintaining databases to ensure the security, availability, performance, and integrity of our data.
