As a DBA / Data Warehouse Engineer specializing in AWS Redshift, your role will involve managing and maintaining AWS Redshift databases and data warehouse environments. You will design and optimize SQL queries, joins, window functions, and execution plans. Your responsibilities will also include query tuning, database performance optimization, monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting failures, handling production incidents, supporting ETL/ELT workflows, conducting data quality checks, managing backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes, and collaborating with engineering and analytics teams to meet business reporting needs. Additionally, you will monitor system health to ensure high availability of data systems and manage production support activities and incident resolution. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain AWS Redshift databases and data warehouse environments - Design and optimize SQL queries, joins, window functions, and execution plans - Perform query tuning and database performance optimization - Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and handle production incidents - Support ETL/ELT workflows with strong debugging and problem-solving skills - Conduct data quality checks and ensure data accuracy and consistency - Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes - Work closely with engineering and analytics teams to support business reporting needs - Monitor system health and ensure high availability of data systems - Handle production support activities and incident resolution Qualifications Required: - Strong expertise in SQL and database concepts - Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift and Data Warehousing - Strong understanding of Data Modelling (Fact/Dimension tables, Star Schema, etc.) - Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and troubleshooting pipeline failures - Knowledge of query optimization and execution plan analysis - Familiarity with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, S3, and Triggers - Experience in monitoring, incident handling, and production support - Good analytical and problem-solving skills In addition to the above, the preferred qualifications would include experience with cloud-based data platforms and large-scale data systems, understanding of automation and workflow orchestration tools, and knowledge of backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies. Please note: This job requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in AWS Redshift and the ability to work in night shifts. The work location is in Gurugram, Haryana, and applicants are expected to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
