Data Science Lead - Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

As a Lead Applied AI/ML Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for spearheading AI-first initiatives that have a direct impact on millions of users and merchants in India. Your role will involve working closely with product, engineering, and business teams, mentoring a small AI/ML team, and owning the AI roadmap. Key Responsibilities: - Fine-tune and optimize LLMs, NLP, CV, and multimodal models for DigiHaat-specific use cases like menu intelligence, fraud detection, recommendations, and voice AI - Develop semantic search and embedding systems customized for Indian languages, menus, and cuisines - Create personalization and recommendation engines - Architect, deploy, and scale AI/ML systems on AWS/GCP/Azure - Implement MLOps pipelines, monitoring, retraining, and performance optimization - Lead voice-based ordering and interaction systems (ASR & TTS) - Utilize RAG frameworks and vector databases for domain intelligence - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into AI solutions Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering and applied AI solutions - Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn - Hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning, embeddings, and semantic search - Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, Milvus - Experience in cloud deployment and MLOps - Knowledge of recommendation systems, fraud analytics, and voice AI - Leadership experience in mentoring teams and delivering large-scale AI projects This position requires a Masters or PhD in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields.
