About the role
As a Database Developer at ProvenTech, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing high-performance database systems. You will work on transforming UI/UX designs into efficient database structures and ensuring seamless data operations across applications. Key Responsibilities: - Design normalized and scalable database schemas from UI/UX wireframes. - Define relationships, constraints, and indexing strategies to ensure high data integrity and consistency. - Collaborate with backend developers on APIs and data access patterns, suggesting optimized queries, stored procedures, and ORM usage. - Review backend code for DB performance improvements. - Identify and resolve slow queries and bottlenecks, optimize joins, indexes, and execution plans, and implement caching and query tuning strategies. - Troubleshoot query delays, deadlocks, and locking issues, while monitoring database performance and health metrics. - Maintain documentation for database designs, ensuring security, compliance, and coding standards. Qualifications Required: - Strong SQL knowledge including Joins, CTEs, and Window Functions. - Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle, with knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and execution plans. NoSQL experience (MongoDB) is a plus. - Backend familiarity with Node.js, Java, .NET, or Python, along with understanding of ORM tools and API design. - Expertise in query optimization and tuning, with experience in handling large-scale transactional systems.
