About the role
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain x86 BIOS/UEFI and coreboot firmware, including platform bring-up and board-specific porting. Work with Intel FSP source code and understand coreboot & FSP boot flow. Collaborate with hardware and system teams to integrate and validate firmware on customer platforms. Port and configure coreboot mainboards, including GPIO, PCIe lanes, board FMD configurations, and payloads. Work with coreboot payloads such as EDK2, SeaBIOS, Tianocore, and facilitate OS bootloader handoff. Implement and maintain UEFI framework code to integrate with FSP for platform boot. Utilize expertise in x86 CPU/APU architectures, memory mapping, and boot stages (upds, FSP, device tree). Ensure compliance with industry-standard protocols such as PCIe, SPI, eSPI, ACPI, and SMM. Perform coreboot upstreaming and maintain open-source code contributions. Work with Git for source code management, code reviews, and BIOS releases to QA. Read and interpret platform hardware and processor specifications to guide firmware development. Support custom BIOS requirements and respond to cross-functional team requests. Apply basic Linux Kernel development concepts (Kconfig) for firmware integration
