Structural Engineer - Engineering Tools Development (ETD)

The Structural Engineer ETD is responsible for developing advanced engineering calculation tools and digital solutions to enhance the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of structural, civil, and solar energy design workflows. This role focuses on creating and maintaining Python-based tools, Excel models, Jupyter notebooks, and other computational engineering resources. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain engineering calculators and design tools using Python, Excel, and Jupyter notebooks. Automate engineering analysis workflows based on standards such as AISC 360, ASCE 7, IS codes, FHWA guidelines, etc Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and convert manual calculation sheets into verified tools. Integrate tools with existing engineering software (eg, STAAD.Pro, LPile, AutoCAD) as needed. Ensure accuracy, reliability, and traceability of all developed tools with proper documentation and version control. Perform testing, validation, and quality assurance for all tools prior to deployment. Provide technical support and training to engineers for using these tools. Required Skills Qualifications: masters degree in Structural Engineering or related field with a relevant experience of 0-5 years. Strong knowledge of structural analysis/design principles and relevant codes. Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) and experience with Jupyter notebooks. Hands-on experience with Excel/VBA-based engineering tools. Good understanding of API integrations with engineering software. Solar industry exposure is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
