About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Data Scientist at Quantium, you will be a technical leader within the Dollar General Promotional Analytics team. Your main responsibility will be the delivery of promotional modeling projects, adapting Quantium's existing capabilities for US retail clients. You will collaborate with other Data Scientists and consultants to transform client queries into analytical solutions, ensuring project success and value delivery to Dollar General. Key Responsibilities: - Accountable for the quality and delivery of Dollar General promotional analytics projects - Master Quantium's promotional analytics capabilities and methodologies for the US retail context - Transform client queries into analytical solutions, working with Consultants to scope solutions - Manage and delegate technical tasks among data scientists - Lead a small team of technical analysts - Collaborate closely with US teams during overlapping hours for knowledge transfer and solution delivery Qualifications Required: - Approximately 5+ years of experience in a technical analytics environment - Strong coding skills in SQL and Python/R - Experience with large datasets to solve commercial business problems - Advanced knowledge of data preparation, feature engineering, model development, and training - Commercial acumen to understand business needs and suggest analytics solutions - Experience in the Retail industry preferred - Experience delivering US-based projects and understanding the US retail landscape highly preferred - Experience in a consulting environment preferred - Experience in team management, mentoring, and development - Tertiary qualifications in engineering, mathematics, actuarial studies, statistics, physics, or related discipline Role Overview: As a Senior Data Scientist at Quantium, you will be a technical leader within the Dollar General Promotional Analytics team.
