About the role
Role Overview: As a Product Application Engineer at Pune location, you will play a crucial role in working closely with account management/customers to develop a workable exhaust system layout, resolve system-level issues, and act as the engineering face to the customer. You will collaborate with the manufacturing team and customers to finalize designs feasible for manufacturing. Your responsibilities will also include generating and maintaining detailed models of designs, creating specifications for products, coordinating technical support work, ensuring Design for Manufacturability (DFM), finalizing Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP & R) with customers, leading tests, analyzing field failures, managing project schedules, and traveling to customer and supplier sites as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with account management/customers to develop exhaust system layout and resolve system-level issues - Collaborate with the manufacturing team and customers to finalize feasible designs - Generate and maintain detailed models of designs and system level Bill of Materials - Create specifications for products and coordinate technical support work - Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) is implemented and lead tests with customers - Analyze field failures, manage project schedules, and travel to customer and supplier sites - Review, approve, and process Customer Print Conformance Qualifications Required: - BS Mechanical Engineer or equivalent educational degree - 4 to 8 years of experience in product design using solid modeling tools - Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics - Basic knowledge of exhaust systems, bellows, vehicle chassis systems, and exhaust components/after treatment - CAD modeling and print creation skills - Project management skills - Independent, motivated, customer-focused, and excellent problem-solving skills - Solid communication skills, both written and oral - Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a cross-functional team environment - Good computer skills with Office applications Role Overview: As a Product Application Engineer at Pune location, you will play a crucial role in working closely with account management/customers to develop a workable exhaust system layout, resolve system-level issues, and act as the engineering face to the customer.
