Senior AI Engineer - Data Science

As a Senior AI Engineer (Data Science) at Rapid7, you will be part of the AI Center of Excellence team, collaborating with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to conduct research, build prototypes, design features, and develop production AI components and systems. Your mission will be to utilize cutting-edge technology to safeguard our customers' attack surfaces. Key Responsibilities: - Drive end-to-end delivery of ML and LLM-based solutions - Own ML solutions for defined problem areas in collaboration with Staff engineers - Build, tune, and evaluate various ML models and pipelines for security use cases - Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases and LLM orchestration using LangChain / LangGraph - Deploy and operate ML/LLM systems using AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, and EKS - Mentor junior engineers and support technical execution across the team Qualifications Required: - 5-8 years of experience as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer - Hands-on expertise with scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and Pandas/NumPy - Strong understanding of feature engineering, model explainability, ML evaluation and tuning - Proficiency in AWS across ML workloads, Agentic AI & LLM - Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, LangChain / LangGraph, prompt engineering and evaluation - Exposure to cybersecurity or threat detection, operating ML systems with CI/CD, monitoring, and retraining - Understanding of guardrails, governance, and observability About Rapid7: Rapid7 is dedicated to creating a secure digital world for customers, the industry, and communities by embracing tenacity, passion, and collaboration.
