Role Summary The Junior IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing first-level technical support for the organization's IT infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and network issues, assembling and maintaining desktop computers, installing and configuring IT equipment, supporting users with day-to-day technical problems, and ensuring smooth functioning of the office's IT systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with basic networking knowledge, solid troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Hardware Support Assemble, upgrade, and reassemble desktop computers and workstations. Diagnose and repair hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals. Install and replace hardware components such as RAM, SSD/HDD, SMPS, graphic cards, and motherboards. Perform preventive maintenance and regular health checks of computer systems. Maintain an inventory of IT hardware, accessories, and spare parts. Network Support Install, terminate, and crimp LAN cables (RJ45 connectors). Troubleshoot LAN connectivity and internet-related issues. Assist in setting up and maintaining network switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, and patch panels. Identify and resolve basic network faults and coordinate with ISPs or senior engineers when required. User Support Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues. Install and configure Windows operating systems and common business software. Configure printers, scanners, and other office devices. Assist users with email, shared drives, and network access issues. IT Operations Set up computers, monitors, phones, and peripherals for new employees. Support office relocations and workstation setups. Perform routine system updates and basic software installations. Maintain documentation of IT assets, issue logs, and service requests.
