About the role
About the program We are expanding our automation horizons to tackle environmental sustainability by developing smart waste management solutions. We are seeking a passionate Research Intern with dedicated knowledge in plastics polymers and recycling processes to guide our technical team. While our core team focuses on automation and hardware execution we need your material intelligence to make automated plastic sorting and recycling highly efficient. As a Plastic Recycling Intern you will define the physical chemical and optical characteristics of different plastic types including PET HDPE LDPE and PP to guide our sorting criteria. You will map out the industrial lifecycle of plastic recycling from shredding to pelletizing highlighting areas where automation can reduce contamination. Additionally you will help build and label image datasets for our computer vision models to accurately segregate waste and collaborate with the engineering team to design testing parameters for physical sorting mechanisms. We are looking for students pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering Polymer Technology Plastic Technology Environmental Engineering or Material Science. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of polymer properties and resin identification codes combined with excitement for how robotics can solve the global plastic waste crisis. Through this role you will gain hands on exposure to cross disciplinary engineering and receive an AICTE approved internship certificate.
