About the role
As an experienced Automation Test Engineer / Test Automation Lead, your role will involve designing scalable automation solutions, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality software releases in Agile environments. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and related technologies. - Create and execute automated test scripts for web, API, and end-to-end testing. - Define automation strategies, best practices, and quality standards across projects. - Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test approaches. - Review and optimize existing automation frameworks for scalability, maintainability, and performance. - Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools. - Lead test planning, effort estimation, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting activities. - Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. - Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers on automation best practices. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives for quality engineering and test automation processes. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to release planning and risk assessment. Qualifications Required: - 5-12 years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation. - Strong programming experience in Java. - Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver. - Robust knowledge of TestNG/JUnit frameworks. - Experience in building automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM), Data-Driven, Hybrid, or BDD frameworks. - Experience with API Automation using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools. - Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests. - Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and defect management tools such as Jira. - Good knowledge of SQL and database testing. - Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Additional Company Details: - Preferred Skills include experience with Cucumber BDD framework, exposure to cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs, experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, experience leading QA teams or automation initiatives, and familiarity with Playwright or Cypress as an added advantage.
