About the role
You have an exciting opportunity to join Save the Children International as a Waliku Data Analyst for a 12-month short-term role. At Waliku, the technology team provides customized solutions for digital data capture and analytics focusing on learner education and well-being. Since its establishment in 2016, Waliku has evolved from a proof-of-concept study to supporting education projects globally. As a Waliku Data Analyst, your key responsibilities will include: - Designing and maintaining data capture tools and forms aligned with program requirements - Performing rigorous data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance - Developing and managing ETL processes using SQL and Microsoft Fabric - Building impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI for operational and strategic insights - Analyzing data trends and translating them into actionable recommendations - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven product and program enhancements Qualifications, Skills & Experience required for the role: - Strong expertise in data visualization using Power BI, including dashboard design - Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (e.g., Data Factory, Lakehouse) - Proficiency in SQL, with experience working on relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) - Practical experience in data validation, testing, and cleaning methodologies - Familiarity with data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox, CommCare, Power Platform / Apps, Google / Microsoft Forms - Strong understanding of data ethics, confidentiality, and security standards - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Exposure to data engineering concepts, including building and maintaining data pipelines - Ability to develop and maintain Python and PySpark scripts for data ingestion, transformation, and processing - Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure / Fabric), including analytics and AI/ML - Experience in designing or supporting MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning) frameworks - Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques (e.g., regression analysis) - Exposure to digital systems in education or social impact sectors - Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and efficiency - Alignment with mission-driven work, including understanding of child-focused or social impact initiatives - Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and skill development Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a dynamic team at Save the Children International and contribute to impactful data-driven initiatives at Waliku.
