AI Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric & AI (5–8+ Years) We are seeking an experienced AI Data Engineer with deep expertise in the Microsoft data and AI ecosystem to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms and AI-powered analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a customer-facing engineer who can partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. Location & Work Mode This role is designed for a Onsite work model. You will collaborate with distributed engineering teams while also engaging directly with client stakeholders for discovery, solution design, and adoption enablement. Specific onsite expectations may vary by client engagement. Key Responsibilities Design and implement modern lakehouse and enterprise analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory in Fabric) and Azure Data Services . Build scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Python , PySpark/Spark , and SQL, supporting batch and (where applicable) near-real-time patterns. Develop and optimize semantic models and enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI , including DAX modeling, incremental refresh strategies, and performance tuning. Implement AI-powered analytics capabilities leveraging Azure OpenAI , Generative AI, LLMs , and RAG architectures, including vector indexing, retrieval strategies, and prompt/response evaluation. Optimize platform performance across Spark workloads, SQL queries, and Power BI datasets (partitioning, caching, query folding, model design, and capacity-aware best practices). Establish and enforce data architecture , governance, and security practices (RBAC, data classification, lineage, access patterns, and secure networking where applicable). Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices for analytics engineering (Git-based workflows, automated deployments, environment promotion, testing, and monitoring). Engage with client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs, run technical workshops, and drive adoption through enablement and best-practice guidance. Required Skills & Experience 5–8+ years of experience in Data Engineering , BI , or Analytics Engineering roles delivering production-grade solutions. Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric , Azure Data Platform , and Power BI (semantic modeling, DAX, and enterprise reporting). Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python ; practical experience with PySpark/Spark performance tuning. Experience designing end-to-end enterprise data platforms (data modeling, ingestion patterns, orchestration, security, and operational monitoring). Experience implementing GenAI solutions using Azure OpenAI , including RAG patterns, embeddings, vector stores, and evaluation/guardrails. Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and performance optimization principles. Excellent communication, consulting, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills in customer-facing environments. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate , Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) , Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) , and/or relevant Azure AI certifications.
