Job Title: Application Engineer Automotive Design Location: Chennai, India Experience: 5-15 Years Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Automotive / Production Engineering Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Application Engineer to support engineering programs from quotation through product launch for Automotive Sub-systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in product design, development, and validation of automotive fluid systems and related components. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and validate automotive products from concept to production. Work closely with customers, platform managers, and cross-functional teams to gather product requirements. Establish design parameters ensuring manufacturability and quality. Guide designers on fabrication, processing, and assembly considerations. Execute product development through APQP methodology. Review and approve engineering drawings, material, and performance specifications. Perform DFMEA and DVP&R activities. Coordinate prototype development, testing, and product validation. Drive design improvements, standardization, and cost optimization. Ensure engineering milestones and program objectives are achieved. Required Skills 515 years of experience in the Automotive Industry. Hands-on experience in the design and development of Automotive Sub-systems such as: Fluid Systems Tubes / Pipes / Hose Assemblies Fuel Lines & Brake Lines Thermal Management Lines Fluid Conveyance Components Interior & Exterior Trim Components HVAC Ducts Strong knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, and DVP&R. Excellent problem-solving and program management skills. Strong communication and customer management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Good written and verbal communication in English. German or French language skills will be an added advantage. Preferred Candidate Profile Experience with Automotive Tier-1 Suppliers or OEMs. Strong product design and development experience in automotive systems. Self-motivated, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple engineering deliverables. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
