About the role
Job Title : Product Quality Release Lead We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Product Quality Release Lead to take ownership of product quality, testing, release readiness, and QA execution for our AI SaaS product. This role is ideal for someone with strong QA fundamentals who is ready to take larger ownership in a fast-moving startup environment. You will work closely with the founders, developers, and a small QA team made up of full-time team members and part-time contractors. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that everything built by the engineering team is properly tested, verified, documented, and ready for release. You will help us create a lean, practical, and cost-conscious QA process that balances manual testing, automation, regression testing, bug tracking, and release readiness. This is a hands-on role where ownership, speed, clarity, and practical judgment matter more than years of experience. Work closely with the engineering team to understand features, fixes, builds, and release priorities. Read product and technical documentation and convert it into test cases, QA plans, acceptance checks, and release checklists. Plan and execute end-to-end testing for key product flows across the web application. Coordinate QA work across full-time team members and part-time contractors. Create and maintain test cases, regression test suites, bug reports, and QA documentation. Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots/videos, severity, and expected outcomes. Verify bug fixes and ensure resolved issues do not create regressions. Own regression testing, smoke testing, and pre-release validation before major releases. Define launch blockers, release risks, known issues, and quality status before release. Provide clear release-readiness updates and go/no-go recommendations from a quality perspective. Identify high-value areas for automation to reduce repetitive manual testing and control QA costs. Work with developers or automation contractors to support automated smoke, regression, API, and browser testing where useful. Test the product experience around AI workflows, including UI behavior, loading states, error handling, retries, session behavior, data saving, and system reliability. Triage customer-reported bugs after launch, reproduce issues, prioritize fixes, and ensure recurring issues are added to regression coverage. Who can apply Bachelor s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or any relevant field. Equivalent practical experience is also welcome. Minimum 2 years of experience in QA, software testing, product testing, product quality, or release testing. Experience testing SaaS products, web applications, dashboards, admin panels, forms, APIs, or user-facing platforms. Strong understanding of manual testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, smoke testing, and release testing. Ability to create clear test cases and QA plans from product or technical documentation. Strong bug-reporting skills with the ability to clearly explain issues, reproduction steps, severity, and impact. Basic understanding of automation testing and where automation can reduce manual QA effort. Familiarity with JavaScript / TypeScript-based products is preferred. Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications, especially AWS-based environments, is a plus. Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Postman, GitHub Actions, Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Trello, or similar tools is a plus. Ability to coordinate QA team members, testers, or contractors to ensure testing work is completed properly and on time. Comfortable working directly with developers, founders, and product stakeholders. Ability to prioritize bugs based on user impact, launch risk, and business importance. Startup mindset with strong ownership, accountability, urgency, and comfort with changing priorities. Good to have - Prior experience coordinating a small QA team or external QA contractors. Experience with automation testing using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, or similar tools. Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools. Experience with CI/CD-based testing workflows. Exposure to AI SaaS products, LLM-based products, chat-based workflows, or agent-based platforms.
