Senior Backend Developer

Role Overview: SiteRecon is a B2B SaaS platform and GIS solution tailored for the landscaping and property maintenance industry. By serving landscaping companies in the United States, Canada, and Australia, SiteRecon helps streamline sales, estimation, and site management processes. The platform creates detailed property maps, identifies and measures features, and combines mapping, landscaping expertise, and pricing intelligence into an intuitive user-friendly platform. Key Responsibilities: - Build robust APIs and services for web and mobile applications to enable real-time property mapping, measurement calculations, and site assessment workflows. - Develop integrations with industry-leading CRMs and platforms for automating data export and synchronization. - Design and optimize data pipelines while handling complex GIS data. - Architect systems at large data scales using event-driven architectures to provide real-time updates and notifications to clients and third-party integrations. - Develop AI and ML-powered features. - Support mobile applications by creating backend services for iOS and Android apps, managing file uploads, offline sync, and real-time data synchronization. - Ensure system reliability through thorough error handling, monitoring, and maintaining high-performance APIs for handling property data at scale. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, frontend engineers, and cartography teams to deliver features that address real customer issues. - Translate product requirements into technical specifications. - Have experience in a fast-paced startup environment. Qualifications Required: - Strong backend development experience with Python and/or Java. - Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices. - Strong experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial data management. - Solid understanding of GIS technologies and geospatial data processing. - Experience designing systems at large data scale and high availability. - Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time systems. - Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Proven ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions. - Experience working in fast-paced startup or product-based environments.
