Head of Technology Infrastructure Operation

Role Overview: You will be responsible for managing mission critical Banking Infrastructure Operations on a 24/7 basis. This includes overseeing various operations such as on-prem Data Centres, Cloud Infrastructure, virtualisation platforms, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Databases, Call Centre Infrastructure, Backups, Storage, etc. As part of the CTO leadership team, your role is crucial in positively impacting the overall delivery of information technology services for the bank. Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership for running 24/7 mission critical operations, ensuring stable Infrastructure services. Measure and improve Infrastructure uptimes and performance through Service Improvement Plans, enhancement of Service Management Processes, or Technology Refresh. Establish metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements to drive continual improvement in IT Operations. - Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of in-house and outsourced professionals managing and supporting operations. Collaborate with direct reports to support their career progression and development, fostering their potential. - Introduce innovative infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance competitive advantages and boost employee productivity. - Participate in major Incidents, Root Cause analysis, and implement Preventive Actions for Service Uptime, driving the adoption of service improvements through a continuous improvement approach. - Ensure timely renewals of services, proactive risk identification, and closure of risks. - Take accountability for driving key projects affecting Infrastructure & Operations aligned with the ultimate goals of Cost and time. - Manage and control budget spend while optimizing and finding ways to reduce operational costs. - Develop RFPs/RFIs, oversee product evaluations, play a decisive role in product and service selections, and ensure supplier contracts meet the bank's requirements and IT standards effectively. - Ensure clean audits, support Information Security, Audit & Compliance requirements, and mitigate Operational Risks & Compliance issues. - Establish a formal governance mechanism incorporating Operations, Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory obligations to monitor controls effectively for Infrastructure Operations teams and ensure timely delivery and closure of Audit observations. - Cultivate successful stakeholder relationships with IT Senior Leadership, Information Technology Leadership, and business key stakeholders by understanding their needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and delivering cost-effective IT services. - Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Vendors and Service Suppliers, conducting periodic internal and external reviews of Performance, Metrics, KPA, KRA, SLA, TATs. - Develop and execute a strategy to enhance awareness of the business value provided by the Infrastructure and Operations function, ensuring continuous alignment with customer needs. - Offer well-considered counsel to CTO and other business service leaders on emerging infrastructure services and technologies, opportunities for applying new technologies to challenges, and changes or risks in supplier capabilities and industry factors. Qualifications Required: - Relevant experience of X years in Infrastructure & Operations, preferably in the Banking & BFSI Industry. - Minimum X years of experience (BFSI industry preferred) in designing and operating complex technology networks, including deep knowledge in technology infrastructure, HCI technologies (Nutanix), Active Directory, Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SDWAN), Routing, Switching, MPLS, Network Security, and more. Familiarity with regulations applicable in the banking industry. - Knowledge in related IT disciplines such as data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration, and outsourced systems & operations. - Exceptional leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, align with IT and business strategy, and lead cross-functional teams effectively. - Strong communication, presentation, and financial management skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and priorities. - Understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security, and application/services. Deep knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the banking industry. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, engineering, or Diploma (+2+3).
