About the role
As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer specializing in Product Development & Supplier Quality with a focus on fabrication, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Manage product development process for fabricated components & assemblies effectively. - Conduct supplier audits, inspections, and lead quality improvement activities. - Review engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and technical specifications meticulously. - Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and root cause analysis for continuous improvement. - Coordinate seamlessly with suppliers, engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams. - Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, manufacturability guidelines, and customer requirements. In order to excel in this role, the following qualifications are required: - Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical Engineering. - Strong expertise in fabrication, welding, machining & assembly processes. - Proven track record in Supplier Quality and New Product Development. - Exposure to coating processes such as Powder Coating or Painting. - Proficient in inspection techniques and adept at drawing interpretation. - Preference for candidates with prior experience in the automotive industry. Preferred qualifications include: - Previous experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers. - Knowledge of AWS and ISO welding standards. - Possession of ISO/IATF 16949 auditor certification would be advantageous. Qualification required for this position is BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, being open to supplier visits and fulfilling travel requirements is essential for this role.
