Automation Engineer

Job Title: Automation Engineer Location: Raleigh, NC Type: 12+ Months Contract

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced DeltaV Automation Engineer to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in a GMP-regulated environment. If you’ve worked with Emerson’s DeltaV DCS , understand batch automation , and know your way around GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11 , this is a role where you can make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support DeltaV systems for pharma manufacturing processes

Lead and contribute to the full project lifecycle: URS, FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation

Develop and support batch process automation using ISA-88 standards

Ensure systems are compliant with GMP , GAMP5 , and 21 CFR Part 11

Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain DeltaV performance

Maintain clear system documentation, including SOPs, specifications, and change controls

Collaborate with Quality , Validation , and IT to ensure data integrity and compliance

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field

5+ years hands-on experience with DeltaV in a GMP-regulated pharma environment

Solid understanding of GMP , GAMP5 , and electronic records regulations

Experience with batch automation , alarm management , and project documentation

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to Have

DeltaV Certification

Experience with MES/ERP integration

Experience with DeltaV system upgrades
