Electrical Engineer
Location-Hybrid/Peoria IL
Bill Rate-30/hr w2
JOB DESCRIPTION-:
Electrification + Energy Solutions Division – Power Electronics + Motors Validation and Verification
VISION: We ensure that our Power Electronics and Motor components meet or exceed our customer requirements through proactive validation planning rigor and verification testing.
Verification / Test Engineers execute physical test work planned on Power Electronics components.
Primary location for testing will be Building AC Power Electronics Labs.
Test support could also expand to Tech Center and PPG / TPG / Field as needed.
Specific responsibilities included but not limited to:
Maintain world-class Power Electronics lab facilities, with a top focus on safety
Execute work planned by the Validation Engineers and documented in DFMEA's
Plan, setup, instrument, run, teardown, document, and share test results
Document issues discovered during testing in PPRD / myNPI system and support design teams with issue resolution
Follow the CLIENT Quality Management System (CQMS) for ISO9001
Conduct monthly safety walks in all lab locations and new test setups
Typical task breakdown:
Plan, setup, instrument, run, teardown, document, and share test results
LV testing (24V)
HV Testing (50V-4000V)
Environmental testing coordination and monitoring (Thermal cycle, vibration, etc)
Interaction with team:
This role will work directly with design engineers and other lab test engineers / technicians.
Detailed test planning with designers through results communication
Work environment:
The role will be in one of the Power Electronics Labs in Mossville, Building AC
Test engineers have seats located outside the labs (with designers) and execute the test work in the lab spaces
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of experience desired
Master’s Degree and/or PHD with 1+ years’ experience
Technical Skills
(Required)
Experience with electric drive systems and/or components
Previous product development experience (design, validation/test or analysis).
Previous experience with High Voltage Testing preferred
(Desired)
Experience with structured FMEA & DVP&R process
Experience with CLIENT NPI Programs and Processes
Experience with NPI Issue resolution process

Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
Excellent analytical skills
Solid organizational and facilitation skills
Disqualifiers/Red Flags:
Uncomfortable with High Voltage Testing or unwilling to be trained
Uncomfortable working several tests at once (some in planning, some in run, some in reporting)
Uncomfortable working with cross-functional teams
Desire to work remotely consistently.
