Position Title: Electrical Test Engineer Location: Pleasanton, CA 94588

Experience: 8+ Years Type: 12-Month Contract (possible extension) Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field

8+ years of experience testing complex electro-mechanical systems in a regulated industry (Medical Devices preferred)

Strong background in:

Medical Device Electrical Engineering & Testing

PCBA design

IEC 60601 standards

FPGA design/verification

LabView

Familiar with international standards: ISO 9000, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, EN 300 328, EN 300 330, ISO 14971

Proficiency with tools such as spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF analyzers, and DVMs

Hands-on experience developing and executing design verification protocols, reports, and risk analyses (DFMEA, UFMEA, Hazard Analysis)

Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative mindset

Nice to Have: Experience with acoustic systems

Responsibilities

  • Plan, perform, and document verification and integration activities for complex electro-mechanical medical devices

  • Conduct electrical design verification including:

  • Low voltage power control, AC voltage/current

  • PCBA, FPGA, and analog components testing (ADC, DAC, OP-AMP, FET, etc.)

  • EMC/EMI/ESD/Radio compliance testing

  • Build and support Electrical Test Lab operations, ensuring safety protocols and best practices are followed

  • Develop and maintain test protocols, verification reports, and technical documentation aligned with regulatory standards

  • Translate design inputs into test design and protocols, support system architecture and detailed design documentation

  • Contribute to risk analysis activities (DFMEA, UFMEA, Hazard Analysis)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, software, electrical, mechanical) to ensure safety, quality, and compliance of Class II medical devices

  • Support review and approval of design changes, deviations, and process updates
