About the role
Position: Engineer – Aerospace Design
Location: Coventry, RI 02816 (Onsite) Duration: 12 Months Shift: 1st Shift Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
The Aerospace Design Engineer will be responsible for executing design activities focused on the preparation, conversion, and release of engineering data. The position demands adherence to company design manuals, best practices, customer specifications, military standards, Bell procedures, program directives, and annual compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed airframe 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Generate assembly and installation documentation using CAD tools.
Perform detail design tasks under the supervision of a technical lead.
Research relevant data and contribute to engineering solutions for specific projects or tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and other specialties to resolve technical issues.
Support program execution within defined cost and schedule requirements.
Provide support to Manufacturing Engineering during component fabrication and assembly.
Engage with suppliers to support component development and quality.
Requirements

Strong understanding of aerospace design standards and verification practices.

Knowledge of general part sizing and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Prior experience working with composite materials.

Technical Qualifications:
-
Proficiency in CATIA V5 and V6 ; experience with SolidWorks is a plus.

Experience with ENOVIA for product lifecycle and data management.

Familiarity with planning, manufacturing, procurement, and maintenance processes.

Hands-on experience with airframe design , especially:

Sheet metal work

Machining

Casting

Forging

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
