Industrial Engineer

Position: Industrial Engineer Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite) Contract Duration: 1 year

Overview

We're hiring an Industrial Engineer to support production efficiency and process optimization at Spirit AeroSystems. This role is hands-on, focused on improving workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze workflows and plant layouts to streamline operations and increase productivity

Optimize product flow and resource utilization across production facilities

Support safety initiatives and training programs related to operations

Conduct cost, inventory, and production studies to drive operational improvements

Contribute to facility planning and equipment utilization strategies

Develop time standards and standard work documentation for shop floor

Use line balancing and capacity analysis to improve output

Monitor performance metrics and lead improvement efforts based on trend data

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial , Mechanical , or Aerospace Engineering

• 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace or aircraft manufacturing background

• Skilled in capacity planning, facility layout, and production efficiency tools

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Solid understanding of aerospace standards

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
