Position: Quality Engineer Location: Otsego, MI (On-site)

Experience: 3 - 5 Years Duration: 12+ months Citizenship: US Citizen, Green Card, TN Visa ONLY (No OPT or H1B)

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Quality Engineers to support our electronics manufacturing operations. You’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems that ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with quality tools, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes to meet ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IPC-A-610, and related standards.

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities using 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, and other structured methods.

Partner with design, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to embed quality into product development and production.

Apply statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven techniques to monitor and improve manufacturing quality.

Provide leadership, coaching, and training on Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.

Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining quality requirements and validating product performance.

Manage and resolve customer complaints through structured problem-solving and corrective actions.

Maintain and continuously improve Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; OR 10+ years of relevant Quality Engineering experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing quality engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of IPC standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), APQP, PPAP, and DFMEA/PFMEA.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Experience with automated inspection systems, PCBA manufacturing, or electronics assembly is highly desirable.
