Job Title: Software Controls Engineer (C#) Location: Wilsonville, OR (On-site; travel to Midwest customer sites required, travel expenses covered)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Controls Engineer with strong expertise in C# programming and automation systems to support hardware and software integration for a regulated medical device assembly line. The role involves installing and integrating a Micro-Epsilon confocal sensor into existing equipment, requiring hands-on field work and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. This is a backfill role due to a candidate backing out post-offer acceptance.

The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically inclined, comfortable with on-site system upgrades, and experienced in the automation industry (machines, robots, PLC/HMI, motion controls, vision systems, servo drives). A background in regulated environments, preferably medical devices, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain C# software for automation and equipment integration.

Perform hardware/software integration for capital equipment and automated systems.

Support installation of Micro-Epsilon confocal sensors on medical device assembly lines.

Collaborate with engineers on PLC programming , motion controls, servo drives, robotics, and vision systems.

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize controls systems in the field.

Travel to customer sites (Midwest) for equipment installation, integration, and testing.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (medical device industry preferred).

Provide technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to downstream teams.

Required Qualifications

Strong C# programming experience.

Proven background in the automation industry (machines, robots, PLC/HMI, motion controls, servo drives, vision systems).

Hands-on software and hardware integration experience for automated/capital equipment.

Familiarity with regulated industries (medical device preferred).

Ability to write PLC code and collaborate with controls engineers.

Mechanically and electrically inclined; comfortable with fieldwork and hands-on equipment work .

Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and system upgrades.
