About the Role
We are partnering with a leading global life sciences organization to hire a Sr. Automation Engineer . This role is critical to supporting manufacturing and laboratory automation systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving operational efficiency across global sites.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the subject matter expert providing advanced technical support for manufacturing and lab automation systems.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain, optimize, and scale automation technologies and critical infrastructure.
Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases, middleware, hardware, and operating systems in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review, evaluate, and approve changes to system servers, networks, databases, and middleware, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
Partner with engineering and IT teams on infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and standardization of automation technologies.
Implement improvements in network structure and automation system standards across multiple global sites.
Troubleshoot complex automation issues, escalating to vendors when needed, and ensure detailed documentation of compliance and technical activities.
Participate in a 24x5 global support rotation, providing rapid problem resolution and guidance during high-priority incidents.
Monitor system lifecycle, compliance readiness, and operational performance through dashboards and regular reporting.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

6+ years of experience in manufacturing technical services, automation systems, or similar roles.

Strong knowledge of plant automation technologies, IT infrastructure, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management practices.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to global teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional initiatives and departmental goals.
