About the role
Job Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer Location: Minneapolis, MN Experience: 5+ years Contract: 12+ months
Job Summary: This role focuses on developing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You’ll work across product design, tooling, materials, and equipment to refine workflow, support new product introductions, and strengthen overall production performance. The work spans research, process validation, documentation, data analysis, equipment readiness, and ongoing improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate manufacturing processes through research, design work, trials, operator feedback, and vendor coordination.
Develop and refine manufacturing methods and equipment by studying requirements, testing options, and implementing updates.
Improve production efficiency by analyzing workflow, space use, and equipment layout.
Strengthen product and process quality through method development, capability testing, standards creation, and process confirmation.
Provide decision support by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing schedules, and forecasting needs.
Prepare reports by gathering and analyzing data, identifying trends, and documenting outcomes.
Support day-to-day manufacturing needs for processes, equipment, and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations to maintain product and company reputation.
Keep equipment operational by planning maintenance, coordinating repairs, and following established procedures.
Lead design and development projects by guiding and training technicians when required.
Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and relevant professional groups.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 6–8 years of relevant experience.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and statistical tools like MiniTab or JMP.
Ability to design and execute DOE studies.
Technical writing skills for validations and technical reports.
Data analysis using statistical methods.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Leadership abilities and familiarity with equipment specifications.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and product development.
