Job Title: Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer Location: Columbus, OH – Onsite

Overview We’re looking for a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer (TS4) to drive a major migration from our Big Data (Hadoop/IOP) environment to Snowflake. This role will focus on building and optimizing ELT pipelines, ensuring data quality, and managing Snowflake environments for enterprise-scale operations.
Key Responsibilities
Migrate and integrate data from Hadoop to Snowflake using best practices.
Build pipelines with Snowpark (Python) and contribute to Snowflake open-source libraries.
Manage Snowflake roles, warehouses, tasks, streams, and Snowpipe.
Optimize performance, tune queries, and monitor workloads.
Develop ELT workflows with PySpark, Hive, Impala, and UNIX shell scripting.
Ensure PHI/PII compliance, maintain governance standards, and document run books.
Conduct code reviews, build reusable frameworks, and support deployments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Snowflake, Hadoop, SAS, ETL) for delivery.
Required Skills
4–6 years in Cloud Databases/Snowflake & Data Warehousing.
2–3 years hands-on with Snowflake (Snowpipe, Snowpark, Big Data migrations).
Expert in SnowSQL, PL/SQL, SQL/Python/Java-based Snowflake procedures.
Strong AWS, Hadoop (Sqoop, Hive, Impala, Kafka), UNIX shell scripting.
Solid ETL/ELT experience and data transformation expertise.
Proven track record with performance tuning, security, and governance.
Bachelor’s in CS/IS or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
Snowflake certification.
Experience with Streams, Tasks, data masking, SAML/OAuth/Kerberos.
Disaster recovery planning for Snowflake.
Leadership skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
